Abi Clarke

In the olden days, i.e. in the early 2020s. In the past, comedians may have expected to gig up and down the UK for several years prior to being invited to a TV panel and selling an arena tour. It's not so easy at the moment. Comedy is one of the art forms that has been able to continue to be performed in front of an crowd, but we'll not be seeing arena tours anytime in the near future. One Bristol comedian, however, has been able to reach an immense global audience during lockdown by using social media. Abi Clarke wasn't aiming to become an internet-star. Abi, who is 24, lives in Henbury and began creating videos online "to build a network of like-minded people who would enjoy my standup comedy." "I was performing regularly in Devon to guys who were in their 50s and were not so enthusiastic about my Love Island Sims and Twilight references so it was time to search online for younger women who could appreciate my stand-up comedy." Abi, who lives in Henbury with her parents, continues to post her videos on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok. She gets inspiration from many sources, such as conversations with strangers, chatroom, and writing down everything she thinks on her phone.
